Ida V. Cowan, daughter of the late William Rose and Lura Kimmitt Rose, was born on March 4, 1917, at Marmaduke, Ark., and died at the Cypress Point Health Care in Dexter on Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at the age of 89.
Mrs. Cowan was a housewife, member of the First Church Of The Nazarene in Dexter, and a resident of Dexter.
On March 22, 1947, she was united in marriage to William Henry Cowan at Dexter. Mr. Cowan preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1990.
Survivors include four grandsons, Thomas E. Cowan, Jr., of Carbondale, Ill., Nathan L. Cowan of Carterville, Ill., Joshua P. Cowan and Jacob R. Cowan, both of Marshall, Ill.; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Elizabeth Rose of Dexter.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Eugene Cowan; two sisters, Eva Hollis and Alti Corlew; and two half-brothers.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Wooten officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
