Cleo Monehan

Cleo Monehan, 79, of Puxico, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007, at his residence.

Mr. Monehan was born Oct. 1, 1927, in Dexter. He had lived in Puxico for the past 34 years and around Fisk and Puxico his entire life. He formerly attended Assembly of God Church in Fisk. Mr. Monehan was a retired farmer, and he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

On July 3, 1964, he married Lorene McCullough, and she survives of the home.

Other survivors include one son, Sherman Monehan of Nixa; one daughter, Brenda Edwards of Ozark; 10 brothers, Glen Monehan, Dale Monehan and Leon Monehan, all of Poplar Bluff, Eugene Monehan and L.C. Monehan, both of St. Louis, Leroy Monehan of New Lenow, Ill., Richard Monehan and Larry Monehan of Jonesboro, Ark., Ronnie Monehan of Dexter, and Joe Monehan of Rockford, Ill.; one sister, Polly Stitz of Poplar Bluff; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

His parents William and Susie Boone Monehan and one daughter, Betty Monehan, preceded him in death.

Visitation was held after 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at the White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Monehan and Rev. Ellis Ashworth officiating.

Interment followed at Shain Memorial Cemetery at Fisk.
