Zelma Huston Jacques of Campbell was born April 17, 1914, in Kennett and died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at Cypress Point Care Center in Dexter at the age of 97.
She was the daughter of the late Robert D. Hawkins and Etta Causey Hawkins.
On July 12, 1930, she was united in marriage to Clyde Lindell Jacques, Sr. at Piggott, Ark. He preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1999.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Campbell.
Survivors include her children, Peggy Hill of Swartz Creek, Mich., Jerry Lee Jacques of West Plains, Carmelita Lance of O'Fallon, Jonell Everett of Campbell, Louella Akers of Nashville, Tenn., Clyde Jacques, Jr. of Dexter, Linda Swafford of Campbell and Tommy Jacques of Malden; 24 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Anthony of Rogers, Ark., and June Tettleton of Herculaneum; two brothers, J.C. Hawkins of Stoutland and Bill Hawkins of Anaheim, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jack Jacques; one grandson; two great-grandsons; one sister, Sue Krems; and four brothers, Joe Hawkins, Raymond Hawkins, Bryon Hawkins and Bob Hawkins.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell with Mr. Kevin Lawrence officiating.
Interment followed in Woodlawn Cemetery at Campbell.
