Lonnie E. Taylor, son of the late Forest and Nora Coates Taylor, was born in Walnut Ridge, Ark., on Feb. 15, 1925, and died at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2007, at the age of 82.
He had lived in the Bloomfield and Wappapello areas most of his life. He and his wife had worked at the Stoddard County Children's Home for 13 years. He was a member of the New Life Full Gospel Church in Dexter.
On Nov. 15, 1947, he was married to Dolly Pearcy in Piggott, Ark.
Surviving are his wife, Dolly Taylor of Bloomfield; four sons, Dennis Taylor of Bloomfield, Bruce Taylor of Wappapello, Mark Taylor of Neosho, and Steve Taylor of Huntsville, Texas; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Pete Taylor of Rockford, Ill., and Bob Taylor of Wappapello; and two sisters, Colleen Hada of Rockford, Ill., and Ruby Parks of Sikeston.
He was preceded in death by one son, Lonnie Taylor, Jr.; four brothers; and three sisters.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Mike Foster of Dexter officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
