Glenn Dale Lanier, 79, of Malden was born July 6, 1927, at Senath, the son of William V. Lanier and Martha Gertrude Palmer Lanier, and died Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at Cape Girardeau.
On Feb. 15, 1948, he and Evelyn Adell Garland were united in marriage at Piggott, Ark. She preceded him in death on Jan. 10, 1999.
He had been the owner/operator of Lanier's Jewelry Store in Malden. He was a member of the Lions Club, Kiwanis Club and the Chamber of Commerce in Malden.
He had served in the Navy and United States Air Force. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Malden.
Survivors include four daughters, Jane Culp and husband Ron of Gideon, Susan Hobbs and husband Larry of Wilmington, N.C., Mary Lanier of Melbourne, Australia, and Nancy Robertson and husband Roy of Midlothian, Texas; 12 grandchildren; Michael Hobbs of Greenville, N.C., Sam Hobbs and Ben Hobbs of Charlotte, N.C., Karen Culp-New of Springfield, Ronnie Culp of Campbell, David Culp of Gideon, Katie Bonenberger of San Diego, Calif., Kyle Bonenberger of Anaheim, Calif., Juliet Arnold of New York, Emily Robertson and Roy Robertson III of Midlothian, Texas, and Brandi Robertson of Sacramento, Calif.; four great-grandchildren, Sophie Evelyn Hobbs, Avery Culp, Christian Robertson and Hunter Robertson.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two brothers, Van Lanier and Joe Lanier; two great-grandchildren, Grace Adell Culp and Conner Ross Culp.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2007, at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with Mr. Keith Garland officiating.
Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
