Michael Dewayne Greene, Sr., the son of Fay and Marilyn Sutt Greene, was born in Bernie on Oct. 16, 1960, and died at the Lufkin, Texas Memorial Specialty Hospital in the Hospice Ward at 9:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2007, at the age of 46.

Mr. Greene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Essex and had been retired from Tyson Foods in Dexter where he resided for many years until his death.

He is survived by his parents, Fay and Marilyn Greene of Bernie; one brother, Steve Greene of Farmington; three sisters, Cherie Crabb of Bertrand, Janet Baker of Bernie and Lisa Ray of Dexter; one daughter, Crystal Greene of Lufkin, Texas; one son, Michael Greene of Sevierville, Tenn.; and one granddaughter, Jasmine Greene of Lufkin.

A memorial service for Michael Greene will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2007, at the Bernie Alliance Church with Pastor Cletus Patterson, Jr. officiating.

The family is requesting that memorials may be made in Michael's name to the Relay for Life Cancer Fund for the American Cancer Society.
