Doug graduated from Richland High School in 1979 and attended Three Rivers Community College for two years. In 1989 he graduated with a B.A. degree in law enforcement at National University and went on to Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau for his master's degree. Doug served his country and is a retired United States Marine, as well as a former officer of the law in various areas of this country. He enjoyed student teaching and working with children. Doug was a resident of Herlong, Calif.
Besides his mother, Shirley Lee Triplett of Grayridge, other survivors include two brothers, Norman "Greg" Triplett of Marion, Ill., and Gary Stevens Triplett of St. Ann; one niece, Jennifer Nichole Triplett of Marion, Ill.; three nephews, Gary Ethan Triplett and Connor Alexander, both of St. Ann, and Dakota Gregory Triplett of Marion, Ill.; also by two uncles and four aunts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marion Norman Triplett; and by his daughter, Princessa Lee Triplett.
A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, March 30, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with Rev. LeRoy Williams officiating. Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is in charge of all services.
