He had resided around the Puxico and Dexter areas all his life. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Dexter. He was a retired truck driver.
On April 18, 1936, he was married to Mabel Ilene Buchanan in Puxico. She preceded him in death on Dec. 16, 1994.
Surviving are one daughter, Anita Louise Peters of Dexter; two grandchildren, Renae Peters Maus and Sabrina Nicole Peters; three great-grandchildren, Randy L., Andrew P. and Nicole L. Maus; and one brother-in-law, Norman Buchanan of Paragould, Ark.
He was preceded in death by one son, Leroy Kitchen; two sisters, Mildred Marie Powell and Cassie May Wilson.
Visitation will be held after 10 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
A private graveside funeral service for family members only will be held on Monday, March 19, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Puxico Cemetery with Rev. Pat Smith of Bloomfield officiating.
Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of all arrangements.
