Virginia Wilhite, daughter of the late Frank Crain and Grace Crump Crain, was born Aug. 3, 1926, at Bernie and died in the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at the age of 80.

Mrs. Wilhite was a homemaker, a Baptist, and a resident of rural Dexter.

She was married to Clarence Wesley Wilhite on Nov. 2, 1946, at Bernie. He preceded his wife in death on Nov. 6, 2005.

Survivors include three sons, Tommy Wilhite of Dexter, Frank Wilhite of Fisk, and Roger Wilhite of Piedmont; three sisters, Myrtle Anthony of Dexter, Eve Allen and Mary Lou Barks, both of Greenville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death other than by her parents and her husband by one brother, Bud Crain; two sisters, Mattie Sandusky and Pernie Ogelvie.

Visitation will be held from 12 noon - 2 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ivan Mekan officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
