Dale Orton, 51, of Poplar Bluff died Monday, March 26, 2007, at St. Louis University Hospital.
Mr. Orton was born on July 24, 1955, in St. Louis. He was a forklift operator for Nordyne and a long time resident of Poplar Bluff. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking outdoors.
On Sept. 5, 1999, he married Julia Malinda Prater in Poplar Bluff. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Kenny Orton of East Prairie and Dustin Orton of Poplar Bluff; four daughters, Lora Fortner, Amanda Bilbrey and Shauna Vaughn, all of Poplar Bluff, and Patricia Hanson of Wenatchee, Wash.; his mother, Lillian Orton of Dexter; five brothers, Steven Orton of Washington, Randy Orton of Dexter, Johnnie Orton, Tom Orton and Bobby Orton, all of St. Louis; six sisters, Linda Menley of Kentucky, Debria "Deb" Ballard of Poplar Bluff, Susan Burns of Pasacola, Mo., Ronda Merriman, Tena Davis and Shannon Noall, all of Dexter; nine grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 29, 2007, at the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.
The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Bruce Underhill officiating.
Interment will follow at the Poplar Bluff City Cemetery.
