Clyde C. Dixon, son of the late Fred C. Dixon and Canna Myers Dixon, was born on July 9, 1918, at Grayridge and died in the Southeast Missouri Hospital at Cape Girardeau on March 31, 2007, at the age of 88.
Mr. Dixon was a retired farmer, livestock trader, a former oil jobber with Saveway Oil Company and M.F.A. Oil Company, a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II, and a resident of Dexter.
He was united in marriage to Ella Mae McKee on Oct. 15, 1937, at Bloomfield. Mrs. Dixon survives of the home in Dexter.
Besides his wife, survivors include four sons, Robert E. Dixon of Niangua, Kenneth D. Dixon of Jackson, Clyde A. Dixon of Dexter, and Darrell R. Dixon of Jonesboro, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny A. Dixon; two sisters, Delma Chasteen and Willa Mae Chasteen.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2007, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Biggs and Rev. Phil Warren officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with full military honors.
