Ruth Louise Black

Ruth Louise Black, the daughter of the late Ivan and Ruth Louise Paris Kirkman, was born in Arwarel, Ark., on April 26, 1931, and died at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Monday, April 9, 2007, at the age of 75.

Mrs. Black had lived all her life in the Dexter area. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.

On June 4, 1949, she was married to Robert R. Black in Piggott, Ark.

Surviving are her husband, Robert R. Black of Scott City; three sons, Ricky L. Black of Rolla, Ronnie U. Black of Bloomfield, and Wayne K. Black of Moberly; two daughters, Mary K. Sander of Sikeston and Trisha L. Sanders of Dexter; 16 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; four sisters, Joann Burleson and Sharon L. Kirkman, both of Dexter, Nellie Stewart of Rolla and Susan Murphy of Jefferson City.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Nelda J. Black; and three brothers, Charles, Frankie and Jackie Kirkman.

Visitation will be held after 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2007, at the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter with Bro. Dale Grissom of Dexter officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hagy Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
