Mr. Coleman was the owner of Coleman Sheet Metal in Bloomfield, a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II and a resident of Dexter.
He was united in marriage to Marjorie Lane on Dec. 4, 1941, at Dexter. Mrs. Coleman preceded him in death on Aug. 27, 1997.
He is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Dowdy and Kathy Coleman, both of Dexter; one brother, Alfred Coleman of Dexter; two sisters, Pauline Kamplain of Republic and Callie Tuphill of North Stonington, Conn.; one grandson, Ryan Dowdy and wife, Dawn; two great-grandchildren, Jessica Lesley and Michaela Lesley.
Besides his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Coleman, Elvis Coleman and J.B. Coleman.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2007, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Wooten officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
