Louis Amel Frank, son of the late Fredrick Claud and Anzel Ringham Frank, was born in Dexter on Feb. 23, 1922, and died at the John J. Pershing V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff on Friday, April 13, 2007, at the age of 85.
Amel had spent his entire life in the Dexter area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had served in World War II. He had been a member of the American Legion for 60 years and had served in many offices.
On Feb. 14, 1946, he was married to Eva McCormick in Risco. She preceded him in death on March 6, 1996.
Surviving are one daughter, Mary Alice Casey of Dexter; four grandchildren; and one sister, Ellen Watson of Dexter.
He was preceded in death by one grandson.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2007 at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007 in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter.
Interment followed in the Caroline Dowdy Cemetery near Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
