Mary Fears, daughter of the late George Edward Neal and Louise Lula Williamson Neal, was born on Sept. 28, 1935, in Bloomfield, and died in the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at the age of 71.

Mary was formerly a farmer in the Bernie area for many years until moving to Branson in 1985 where she and her husband John owned and operated several businesses.

On Jan. 26, 1952, she was united in marriage to John Fred Fears in Paragould, Ark. Mr. Fears preceded her in death on May 18, 1999.

Survivors include two sons, Dennis Keith Fears and Michael Ray Fears, both of Branson; three daughters, Kimberly Diane Rendleman of Springfield, Cynthia Leigh Bowman of Dexter, and Joni Lynn Burleson of Dexter; two sisters, Georgie Evans of Dexter and Myrtle Condict of Essex; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Benjamin Heath Fears.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2007, in the Bernie Cemetery.
