Helen June Duggins, past resident of Dexter, died Friday, April 13, 2007, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Lockwood after a lengthy illness. She was born June 24, 1924, to Eva and William Willis of Dexter. Before retiring in 1985, she was employed as a secretary with Missouri Division of Family Services in Kansas City. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, a nephew, brother-in-law, and recently, her sister, Wilma Owens of Dexter. She was married for 20 years to Raymond Duggins who died in 1969 in Dexter.

Surviving family members include Susan Hinze, daughter and her husband, Gary Hinze of Excelsior Springs, Judy Morris, daughter and her husband, Rev. Jay Morris of Republic; one niece, Cathy Bagby and her husband, Mike Bagby, their two children, Britney and Ryan Bagby of Dexter; three grandchildren, Heather Smith and her husband Mark of Lathrop, Cory Hinze and his wife Amy of Kansas City, and Kari Morris of New York City, N.Y.; two great-grandchildren, Audrey Rose Smith and Owen Lane Smith of Lathrop; and a third great-grandchild Mac will be born in June.

Services will be held at Lockwood Funeral Chapel in Lockwood on Saturday, April 21, 2007.

Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. and service at 2:30 p.m. A graveside service will be in May around Memorial Day weekend at Dexter Cemetery. Any memorials are requested to be sent to Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Lockwood, Missouri, in memory of Helen Duggins.
