Lillian Skelton Hohstadt

Friday, April 20, 2007

Lillian Skelton Hohstadt, a former resident of Dexter, died April 17, 2007.

She was born to Dwight and Elma Launius on June 17, 1919, in Bloomfield. In 1938 she married her childhood friend and sweetheart James A. Skelton and remained his loving wife for over 50 years. Jim died in 1992. Lillian moved to Hamilton to be near her family. It was here she met and later married Harry Hohstadt who died in 2005.

Lillian was an L.P.N. and worked in that field for a time. She was also a member of Eastern Star. As a lifelong Christian, devoted to her faith and church activities, Lillian brought much love and hope, along with a healthy dose of humor, to all who met her. She spent a lifetime helping and comforting those in need. She was especially happy when working with young people.

Lillian was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Jim and Harry; infant daughter, Peggy Skelton; siblings, Russell Launius, Kent Launius, Louise Halstead, and Doyle Launius.

She is survived by son Jim of Roseburg, Ore.; son, Ron; brother, Doy Launius of Moorpark, Calif.; sisters, Lois Vaughn of Dexter and Ruth Ann Fritsen.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 20, at the Daly-Leach Chapel in Hamilton, Mont. with Brother Jack Park officiating. Private family interment will take place at Corvallis Cemetery.

The family suggests donations be made to the Marcus Daly Memorial Hospice Center, 1200 Westwood Dr., Hamilton, Mont. 59840 or Blind and Low Vision Services, P.O. Box 4210, Helena, Mont. 59604.
