Rose Ann Lucas, daughter of the late Nicholas Kuhns and Margarette Kirsh Kuhns, was born on Sept. 1, 1918, at Chicago, Ill., and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Thursday, April 19, 2007, at the age of 88 years.

Mrs. Lucas was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter and a resident of Bloomfield.

On Aug. 20, 1938, she was united in marriage to Leo Joseph Lucas, Sr. in Chicago, Ill. Mr. Lucas preceded her in death on June 9, 2004.

Survivors include one son, Leo Joseph Lucas Jr. of Chicago, Ill.; two daughters, Bernadetta Fuwell of Bloomfield and Bernadine Willard of Chicago, Ill.; also 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, two sisters, one granddaughter, and by one great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2007, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 23, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Dexter with Father David Dohogne officiating.

Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery.
