Edna Lane, daughter of the late Sherman Duncan and Addie Smith Duncan was born on Oct. 15, 1918, in Grayridge and died at the Golden Living Center in Dexter on April 30, 2007 at the age of 88.
Mrs. Lane was a housewife, member of the Grayridge General Baptist Church, Stoddard County A.R.C., and Order of Eastern Star in Essex. She was also a resident of Dexter.
On July 31, 1937 she was united in marriage to Walter E. Lane at Dexter. Mr. Lane preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1989.
Survivors include one son, Martin Gale Lane of Sikeston; by four daughters, Juanita Fay Jones of Essex, Glenda Mae McCollough, Judy Carol Conner, and Margaret Sue Lane, all of Dexter; also by eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Walter Dale Lane; by two brothers, Sherman Ray Duncan and C. J. Duncan; by one sister, Cozetta Rasche, also by one granddaughter.
Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m.. Wednesday, May 2, 2007. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2007, in the Dexter Cemetery with Rev. Joe Ogelvie officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
