Margaret Jean Pursell

Margaret Jean Pursell, the daughter of the late O.C. and Bertha Churchill Porter, was born in Morrilton, Ark., on Nov. 18, 1925, and died at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston on Thursday, May 3, 2007, at the age of 81.

Mrs. Pursell had lived in Dexter most of her life. She had worked at Elder Manufacturing and the Stovall's Department Store. She was a member of the First Nazarene Church in Dexter.

On Nov. 28, 1946, she was married to Dale Pursell in Dexter. He preceded her in death on April 11, 2007.

Surviving are two sons, David and Phyllis Pursell of Florissant and Tony and Elaine Pursell of Dexter; four grandchildren, Kevin and Danielle Pursell, Kelly Pursell, John Pursell, and Ashley Jarrell; three great-grandchildren, Brendan Pursell, Brooke Pursell, and Landon Jarrell.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Porter Adams.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Roger Wooten of Dexter officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Dexter First Nazarene Church or the Ben Kruse 18 Fore Life event.
