James Ernest McCollum, son of the late Ernest and Lois Black McCollum, was born at Bloomfield on Oct. 16, 1938, and died at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau on May 4, 2007, at the age of 68.

Mr. McCollum was a lifelong resident of Bloomfield and was an owner-operator truck driver for over 40 years. On Sept. 26, 1958, he was married to Janice Stoker.

Survivors include his wife, Janice of the home in Bloomfield; four sons, Ernest Lee McCollum, James Dean McCollum, Randal Gene McCollum and Franklin Aud McCollum of Bloomfield; six sisters, Helen Launius and Ruth Ann Standridge, both of Moorpark, Calif., Virginia Pullum and Elaine Launius, both of Bloomfield, Audrey Duncan and Kathryn Hyslop, both of Dexter; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2007, at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2007, at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Bob Holland officiating.

Interment followed in the Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
