J. C. Eaves, son of the late Dave Eaves and Hazel Eaves, was born on Dec. 30, 1931 at Grayridge and died in the V.A. Medical Center at Memphis, Tenn., on May 6, 2007, at the age of 75.
Mr. Eaves was a former farmer, veteran of the United States Air Force, and a resident of Bernie.
On Aug. 25, 1953, he was united in marriage to Jacquline Hester at Bloomfield. Mrs. Eaves survives of the home in Bernie.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Harold Eaves and Debe of Kennett, James Eaves and Wanda of Jackson, Johnny Eaves and Vicky of Bernie; one daughter, Barbara Kegley of Malden; one brother, Ed Crockett of Michigan; by one sister, Carol Hall of Brighton, Mich.; seven grandchildren; Kindra Polito of Havelock, N.C., Beau Kegley of Bernie, Courtney Eaves of Jefferson City, April Laster of Dexter, Kristian Eaves, Matthew Eaves, and Zachary Eaves, all of Bernie; and also five great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Billy Crockett, Hubert Crockett, and Bobby Crockett.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.
A graveside service will be conducted in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield on Wednesday, May 9, 2007, at 1 p.m. with Stan Dauck officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
