Robert L. Shipman, son of Willie Andrew Shipman and Clorine Williams Shipman of Dexter, Missouri was born on April 15, 1943, in Dexter and died at the Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Thursday May 10, 2007, at the age of 64.

Mr. Shipman was a member of the Hill Church in Bloomfield, self-employed construction laborer, and a resident of Dexter.

On March 4, 2003, he was united in marriage to Luann Mitchell in Piggott, Ark. Mrs. Shipman survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, Luann Shipman of Dexter and parents, Willie Andrew Shipman and Clorine Shipman of Dexter, survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick Shipman and Barbie of Dexter and Bobby Shipman and Rhonda, also of Dexter; by two daughters and sons-in-law, LaDawn Christian and Robert of Dexter and Melissa Mitchell and Robert of Bloomfield; by seven grandchildren, Bud Shipman, Grace Shipman, Brent Shipman, Cody Shipman, Taylor Christian, Zoie Christian, and Elektra Lamar.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Darla Shipman.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Saturday May 12, 2007.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2007 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Gerald King officiating.

Internment will follow in the Hill Cemetery at rural Bloomfield, Missouri.
