Richard "Dick" Hendry, the son of the late Abe D. and Ruby Pettingill Hendry, was born in Villisca, Iowa, on May 31, 1940, and died at his home near Wappapello on May 14, 2007, at the age of 66.

He had lived at the Lake of the Ozarks and St. Louis County before moving to Wappapello many years ago. He had worked as a dynamite specialist with N.B. Harty Construction. He attended the Egypt Church in Puxico and enjoyed fishing.

On Oct. 14, 1961, he was married to Rosalie Barnhart in Miller County. Surviving are his wife, Rosalie Hendry of Wappapello; three sons, Richard "Pete" Hendry and Charles Wayne Hendry, both of Eldon, Douglas Ray Hendry of Wappapello; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Hickle of Eldon and Betty Roark of Iberia.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico with Pastor Glenn Marshal of Poplar Bluff officiating.

Interment will follow in Puxico Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico in charge of all arrangements.
