Roger B. Ray

Roger Ray, son of the late James Ray and Violet Cook Ray, was born on July 11, 1946, in Malden and died at the M.D. Anderson Medical Clinic in Houston, Texas, on Monday May 28, 2007 at the age of 60 years.

Mr. Ray was the owner and operator of Raco Distributing, Inc., in Dexter, a member of the Pleasant Grove Church, and a resident of Dexter. He enjoyed restoring cars, trucks and tractors.

On May 29, 1966 he was united in marriage to Velma Corlies in Dexter. Mrs. Ray survives of the home in Dexter.

Besides his wife, survivors include one daughter, Bobbi Lynn of Dexter; one half-brother, Glen Billings of McRae, Ark.; two sisters, Geneva Seed of Oxford, Mich., and Brenda Presson of Rector, Ark.; one half-sister, Deen Anderson of Black Oak, Ark.; two grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Marcella Corlies;

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Ray.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 1, 2007 at 10 a.m. in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dale Shearon and Rev. Ron Williams officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sycamore Cemetery at rural Dexter.

Memorials can be made to the Sycamore Cemetery.
