Lawrence George Vieth was born November 5, 1918, in Hamburg, Arkansas, the son of George William and Lydia (Moser) Vieth.

He died on May 30, 2007, at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter, Missouri, at the age of 88 years, six months and 25 days.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva Acord Vieth; three sons, Don Vieth of Farmington, MO, Rick Vieth of New Carlisle, OH and Troy Vieth of Tulsa, OK; six grandchildren, Scott Vieth, Melanie (Marc) Braun, Teresa Porter, Ben Vieth, Rachel Vieth and Andy Vieth; six great-grandchildren, Nicolaus, Noah and Gabriel Braun and Caleb, Lucas and sidney Vieth.

He is also survived by two brothers and one sister, Willie Earl Vieth of Bernie, MO, Floyd E. Vieth of Paducah, KY and Elsie Vieth Walker of Branson, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Barry Allen Vieth (whose death also occured on May 30, but in 1950); former wife, Vernice Sielert Vieth; one sister, Ethel Vieth Dawson; and one brother, Adrian Leroy Vieth.

Friends may call at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2007. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2007 in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ed Stoner officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter cemetery.
