Wayne Reed, son of Wafe B. Reed and Virginia Pierce Reed of Dexter, was born on Aug. 13, 1958, in Poplar Bluff and died unexpectedly on June 13, 2007, at his residence in Dexter at the age of 48.

He was affiliated with the First Baptist Church in Dexter, a former employee of Tyson Food, Holden Pallet Company, both in Dexter, and several other businesses in the local area. Wayne owned a mechanic and body shop in Dexter where he had a passion for turning wrenches and working on motors. He enjoyed fast cars, riding on four-wheelers, raising vegetables, and caring for his lawn.

On Dec. 16, 2005, he was united in marriage to Monica Lynn Skinner in Bloomfield. Mrs. Reed will reside in Dexter.

Besides his parents and wife, survivors include one daughter, Kandise Nichole Reed Lanpher of Advance; two step-daughters, Brandy Jo Maddox McAdams of Cape Girardeau and Chris Nail of Batesville, Ark.; three grandchildren, Keyton Joe Livingston, Alisha Renee McAdams, and Joselynne Paige Younger, all of Cape Girardeau; one brother and sister-in law, Dale Reed and Judy of Elsinore; one sister and brother-in-law, Terrie Jean Reed Weaver and Mike of Tomball, Texas; two nephews Dennis Michael Reed of Elsberry and Justin Lewis and wife Megan of Chicago, Ill.; three nieces, Holly Lewis of Poplar Bluff,, Desirať M. Waver and A. Danielle Weaver both of Tomball, Texas; also aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. Monday, June 18, 2007.

Funeral services will be conducted in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2007, with Dr. Kevin Chenoweth and Dr. Curtis Porter officiating.

Interment will follow at the Chalk Bluff Cemetery in Dexter.
