Corra Mae Edwards, 59, of Sikeston, died at 8 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2007, at St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis following a brief illness. She was born June 4, 1948, in Dardanelle, Ark., to the late George Edward and Florence Elizabeth Lewis McDonnold. She had worked for 12 years at the Sikeston Rescue Mission, and also had previously worked at Calvary Temple Day Care in Sikeston. She was an associate minister of the House of Prayer General Baptist Church at the time of her death.

She was married to John D. "J.D." Edwards on March 18, 1976, at Sapupla, Okla. He survives of Sikeston. She is also survived by one daughter, Lisa Edwards of Bloomfield; three brothers, Bill McDonnold of Morehouse, David McDonnold of Reno, Nev., and Kent McDonnold of Whittier, Calif. She is also survived by two granddaughters, both of Bloomfield. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2007, at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 22, 2007, in the Nunnelee Chapel with Rev. Millie Burns, pastor of the House of Prayer General Baptist Church officiating.

Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
