Opal Stickles, daughter of the late Ernest and Mabel Jarrells Edwards, was born in Dexter on November 26,1922, and died at the Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, on June 22, 2007, at the age of 84.

Mrs. Stickles had lived in Dexter all her life and was a member of the Church of Christ.

On September 20, 1941, she was married to Argil Stickles in Dexter. He preceded her in death on February 23, 1987.

Surviving are one daughter, Pearl Ashley of Dexter; one son, Terry Stickles, of Dexter; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one brother, Floyd Edwards, of Dexter. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Lloyd, Junior and Alfred Edwards and one sister, Lorene Edwards.

Friends may call on Saturday. June 23, 2007, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2007, at the Watkins and Sons Chapel in Dexter, with Bro. Dale Grissom of Dexter, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sadlers Chapel Cemetery near Dexter, with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
