She was united in marriage to Louie Cleburne Winstead on Oct. 28, 1933, at Cardwell. He preceded his wife in death on Sept. 2, 1992.
Mrs. Winstead was a homemaker, a member of the Northside Baptist Church in Bernie, and she taught Sunday School for many years at Northside and also at Essex First Baptist. She was a resident of Bernie.
Survivors include two sons, Louie G. Winstead of Villa Rica, Ga., and Ronnie G. Winstead of Jackson; three daughters, Willa Dean Wicker of Cahokia, Ill., Phyllis June Ray of Brentwood, Tenn., and Rose Mary Beacham of Puxico; one brother, Vernon Cornelison of Steele; one sister, Minnie Lee Hurley of Steele; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death, other than by her parents and her husband, by two sons, Ted L. Winstead and Jimmy Winstead; three brothers, Alva Cornelison, Herbert Cornelison and J.V. Cornelison.
Visitation was held from 2-4 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.
Funeral services were conducted at 4 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2007, in the Rainey-Mathis Chapel with Rev. O.H. Brooks and Rev. Tim Ingle officiating.
Interment followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
