Terry A. Jackson, 54, of Somonauk, Ill., died Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born Aug. 28, 1952, in Kennett to parents, Bill and Jane (Rhew) Jackson. He was a 1970 graduate of Dexter High School. He married Lorraine Finn on Sept. 30, 1972, in Aurora, Ill. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed working at Caterpillar for 36 years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Somonauk. He loved coaching boys' baseball and girls' softball and was a die-hard Cub fan. He had a great love for cars, especially his Mustang GT. His greatest love of all was his family and many friends. Terry will be remembered most for his wonderful sense of humor.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Lorrie; his parents, Bill and Jane Jackson of Dexter; one son, Terry A. Jackson, II of Plano, Ill.; one daughter, Jody M. Clark of Plainfield, Ill.; two grandchildren, Andrew C. Stonecipher and Haylee N. Jackson; his in-laws, John and Lorraine Finn; two brothers-in-law, Jack (Patty) Finn and Wayne (Sue) Finn; two sisters-in-law, Pat (Denny) Norman and Casey Finn; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Terry will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Somonauk, Ill., with Rev. Dennis Heaney officiating. Private graveside service will be held at a later date at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church, Season's Hospice or Open Door Rehabilitation in Sandwich.
