Shirley Ann Fowler Davidson, daughter of the late John Everett Joiner and Nancy Wade Joiner, was born on Feb. 1, 1936, at Ash Hill and died in her residence near Dudley on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at the age of 71.

Mrs. Davidson was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene at Dexter, the former operator of the Dexter Bus Station, a former C.N.A. with Vintage Villa Nursing Center and the Dexter Nursing Center and a resident of rural Dudley.

She was united in marriage to David Wilburn Davidson on March 21, 1998, at Saucier, Miss. Mr. Davidson preceded her in death on June 12, 2003.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Cissy and Benjamin Rushing of Dudley; two grandsons, Zackary Allen Rushing and Noah Benjamin Rushing; one brother, Drexel Joiner of Warren, Mich.; three sisters, Shelby Kincy of Glen Carbon, Ill., Opal Gauthier and Audrey Wiltfong, both of Flint, Mich.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Glenn W. Joiner, J.B. Joiner and John Joiner; and two sisters, Gladys Traynor and Betty Gamel.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Rev. Roger Wooten officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
