Mrs. Courter was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ, a housewife, and a resident of Dexter.
On March 30, 1946, she was united in marriage to Billy Courter in Piggott, Ark. Mr. Courter preceded her in death on Aug. 10, 1971.
Survivors include one son, Billy Courter of Dexter; two daughters, Sharon Freeman of Dexter and Myrla Kay Courter of Wappapello; two sisters, Mary Knight and Thelma Brannum, both of Dexter; four grandchildren, Jeannie Jones and Amanda Brown, both of Dexter, Carrie Michele Bascom of Poplar Bluff, and Jennifer Williams of Bernie; and eight great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Myra Fleetwood Hall; three brothers, Melvin Fleetwood, William Fleetwood, and Clifford Fleetwood; and two sisters, Nettie Medlin and Pansy Layton.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 12, 2007, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Dale Grissom officiating.
Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
