Glenda Mayola Hays, 86, of DeSoto, formerly of Qulin, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at her residence in DeSoto.

Mrs. Hays was born Sept. 14, 1920, in Qulin. She was a retired certified nurse's aide, a cook at Qulin Elementary School and was a homemaker. She was a member and served as secretary of the Qulin United Methodist Church.

On May 9, 1942, she married Julius C. Hays in Poplar Bluff. He preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 2001.

Her survivors include two sons, Johnny L. Hays and wife Charlotte of Poplar Bluff and Stephen J. Hays and wife Delma of DeSoto; one daughter Ronda L. Smith and husband, David of Cape Girardeau; nine grandchildren, Russell Hays, David Hays and wife Amy, Robert Stanley, Angela Spence and husband Rick, Mark Finocchiaro, Jr., Tiffany Johnson and husband, Christopher, James Hays, Kevin Hays, Laura Hays; five great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Timothy, Amber, Jacob and Tyler; three sisters, Loraine Taylor of Farmington, Lillian Love and Nadine Rainey, both of Maryland Heights; two brothers, Scotty Pendegrass of Wappapello and Raymond Pendegrass of Dallas, Ft. Worth, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvie Cletus and Laura Summers Pendegrass; four brothers; and two daughters-in-law.

Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at Landess Funeral Chapel in Campbell with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.

Interment followed in Qulin Cemetery.
