Lois Mae James

Lois Mae James, daughter of the late Herbert Lewis Haney and Lucille Hargett Haney, was born on January 27, 1935, at Dexter and died at her residence in Bernie on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at the age of 72.

Mrs. James was a homemaker and had attended the General Baptist Church of Bernie.

She was united in marriage to Clarence Edward James on Jan. 28, 1952, at Piggott, Ark. He preceded his wife in death on May 29, 1988.

Survivors include two sons, Donnie James of Bernie and Brian James of Hillsboro, Ore.; four daughters, Linnae Ayn West of Anna, Ill., Linda Allen of Jonesboro, Ill., Brenda Pool of Mesa, Ariz., and Judith Waters of Bernie; two brothers, Donald Haney of Cobden, Ill., and Dale Haney of Anna, Ill.; one sister, Joyce Haney of Bernie; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Lewis Haney and Larry Gene Haney; two sisters, Wanda Walker and Mary Lou Moore.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007.

Funeral services will then be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007.

Interment will follow in Bernie Cemetery.
