Mary Jessie Lee Johnson, daughter of the late Seth L. Campbell and Elvie Leaton Henson Campbell was born on November 17, 1921 in Centersville, Tenn. and died at the Golden Living Center in Dexter on August 29, 2007, at the age of 85.

Mrs. Johnson was a housewife, member of the Dexter Church of Christ and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to Sam L. Johnson in January of 1997. Mr. Johnson preceded her in death in 1997.

Survivors include three sons, Eugene Henson of Belleville, Ill. Terry Hill of Clarkton and Danny Hill of Bloomfield; one daughter, Mary Ballard of Belleville, Ill.; two sisters, Elease Conley of Dexter and Aline Bradford of Belleville, Ill.; also by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Wilburn Carter; one brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. till noon, Saturday, September 1, 2007, at the Dexter Church of Christ. Funeral services will then be conducted on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at noon in the Dexter Church of Christ with Travis Quertermous and Dale Grissom officiating. Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
