Jeanetta Wray Monan, 74, of Sikeston died on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2007, at 6:45 a.m. at her daughter's residence in Essex. She was born on March 11, 1933, in Lamar, Ark., to the late William Thomas and Vanda Harris Holland. She was a member of Shady Acres Church of Christ and a housewife and homemaker. She married Thomas H. Monan on May 13, 1950, in Sikeston, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 19, 1993.

She is survived by a son, Thomas H. Monan of Niceville, Fla.; two daughters, Linda Brown of Essex and Teresa Meyer of Sikeston; one sister, Ann Harr of Sikeston; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, in the Nunnelee Chapel with Pat Hogan, minister of Shady Acres Church of Christ officiating.

Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
