Barry James Barnes, son of James H. "Jim" Barnes and the late Mary Ellen Williams Barnes, was born in Dexter on Feb. 1, 1963, and died at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at the age of 44.

Mr. Barnes had lived in the Dudley area all of his life. He had worked as a farm hand until his health forced his retirement.

Surviving are one son, Justin William Barnes of Dudley; one daughter, April Jones of Poplar Bluff; his father, James H. "Jim" Barnes of Dudley; four grandchildren; one brother, Garry W. Barnes of Dexter; and one sister, Dana Fay Wilson of Cape Girardeau.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico officiating.

Interment followed in the Bloomfield Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
