Mr. Barnes had lived in the Dudley area all of his life. He had worked as a farm hand until his health forced his retirement.
Surviving are one son, Justin William Barnes of Dudley; one daughter, April Jones of Poplar Bluff; his father, James H. "Jim" Barnes of Dudley; four grandchildren; one brother, Garry W. Barnes of Dexter; and one sister, Dana Fay Wilson of Cape Girardeau.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico officiating.
Interment followed in the Bloomfield Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
