Seburn Henry Crumley, 83, a resident of Bertrand, died at 10:08 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007, at the Bertrand Nursing Center.
He was born Nov. 24, 1923, in New Holland, Ga., to the late John and Ozena Adams Crumley. He had been employed as a painter with the General Motors Company at Doraville, Ga. Having lived in Bertrand since 1978, he was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Bertrand and had served in both the U.S Army and the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II.
On Aug. 14, 1965, he married Eva Marie Jones who survives of the home in Bertrand.
Also surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Todd and Melissa Crumley of Bertrand and Barry and Kim Crumley of Dexter; four grandchildren, Rebecca Lynn Moore, Alayna Marie Crumley, Jacob Harrison Crumley and Andrew Dalton Crumley.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Grady Crumley and one sister, Reba Holcomb.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007, at the Heartland Harvest Church of God of Prophecy, 463 Sandywood Street in Sikeston where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007. Rev. Charles Kohlbaker of Bertrand will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie with military rites provided by the Missouri Military Honor's Program.
Pallbearers will be Everett Taylor, Mike Oliver, Lynn Taylor, Gary Harper, Bo Duenne, Jim Buck, Kevin Terrell and Shane Grissom.
Honorary pallbearers will be Guy Jenkins, David Syre and Richard Clark.
