Kathleen J. Ward, daughter of the late Johnnie Thomas and Mary Vincent Thomas, was born on Dec. 4, ,1914 at Malden and died at Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter on Sept. 5, 2007.

Mrs. Ward was a homemaker and was a member of the Bernie United Methodist Church.

She was united in marriage to James Houston Ward on Dec. 24, 1936, at Malden. He preceded his wife in death on May 30, 1990.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Ann Marriott of Marthasville; one sister, Maxine Clifford of Campbell; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Lee Ward; one grandson; and one brother, Byron Thomas.

Visitation will be held at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning at 11 a.m. Sept. 7, 2007, at the Bernie United Methodist Church with Rev. Susan Marner-Sides officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
