He was born Nov. 23, 1942, in Sikeston, to the late Clarence and Mildred George Freed.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a farmer most of his life. After retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include one son, Mike Freed of Carrollton, Ga.; and two daughters, Robin Haynes of Newnan, Ga., and Cheryl Tidwell of Sparta, Ill.; two brothers, Bill Freed and Rick Freed, both of Wappapello; and one sister, Pam Ware of Puxico; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Sue Freed; and a son, Chad Eric Freed.
A memorial service and internment with military honor guard will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
