Mildred Iola Laffoon

Mildred Iola Laffoon, daughter of the late Thomas F. Killian and Zeba Rhyne Killian, was born Feb. 4, 1920, in Sedgewickville, Mo., and died Friday, Sept. 7, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter at the age of 87.

Mrs. Laffoon worked at Elders Manufacturing in Dexter for 40 years until she retired, was a member of the Sadler Chapel Church in Dexter and was a resident of Dexter, formally of Dudley.

She was married to Woodrow H. Laffoon on June 12, 1937, in Dexter. Mr. Laffoon preceded her in death Aug. 19, 1988.

Survivors include one son, Stanley Laffoon Sr. of Dudley; one sister, Goldie Medlock of Farmington, Mo.; two grandsons; and one great-grandchild.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Deanna Laffoon; one brother, Berninard Killian; and one sister, IVD Holland.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Brother Buddy Heaton and the Rev. Amy Lambel officiating. Burial will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
