Aubrey Ray Gant

Aubrey Ray Gant, son of the late Marvin Henry and Mary Jane Bell Gant, was born in Mauila, Ark., on Oct. 12, 1931, and died at the Poplar Bluff Regional Center on Friday, Sept. 14, 2007, at the age of 75.

Mr. Gant was a resident of Dudley, and a member of the Dudley Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he served during the Korean War.

On July 10, 1954, he was married to Donnis Lee Litzler in Corinth, Miss.

Surviving are his wife, Donnis Gant of Dudley; two sons, Bruce Gant of Dexter and Darin Gant of Scott City; one daughter, Jane Kingree of Dudley; one brother, James Gant of Poplar Bluff; two sisters, Ruby Holman of Visala, Calif., and Viola Williams of Springdale, Ark.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Bruce Gant; as well as two sisters, Beulah Morgan and Ann Matthews.

Visitation was held from 12 noon until service time Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Home in Dexter

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Bro. Stan Dauck of Bernie officiating, He was assisted by Gary Hicks.

Interment followed in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the 18 Fore Life.
