Jimmie Fred Jordan, son of the late Vernon Jordan and Fredda Winchester Jordan, was born on Nov. 29, 1934, at Malden and died in Missouri Southern Healthcare at Dexter on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at the age of 72.

Mr. Jordan was a former manager of the Dexter I.X.L. plant, a former maintenance supervisor of the St. Louis Auto Auction and a resident of Bernie.

He was united in marriage to Dorothy Jean Lee on Nov. 14, 1979, at St. Charles. Mrs. Jordan survives of the home in Bernie.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Virgil Hodge, Jr. of New York state and Rev. Bruce Hodge of Poplar Bluff; three daughters, Sheryl Merriman of Poplar Bluff, Linda Quigley of Harviell, and Penny Morrison of Kingwood, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Jordan.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17, 2007, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel in Bernie with Rev. Dalles Merriman and Rev. Bruce Hodge officiating.

Interment followed in the Bernie Cemetery.
