Lillie Belle Brehmer, daughter of the late John Thomas Looney and Lilly Crowe Looney, was born on April 2, 1921, at Greensburg, Kan., and died in the Cypress Point Healthcare in Dexter on Friday, Sept. 21, 2007, at the age of 86.
Mrs. Brehmer was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter where she enjoyed singing in the choir and had worked along side of her husband for 50 years on the family farm. She was a homemaker, a porcelain artist, a member of the Home Extension Club, a member of O.A.K.S., a former teacher in Helena, Okla., and a resident of Dexter. She loved to fish and dance. She was loved and will be missed by many family and friends.
She was united in marriage to Elmer Brehmer on June 15, 1943, at Alva, Okla. Mr. Brehmer preceded her in death on June 30, 2002.
She is survived by two sons, John Brehmer and wife, Marilyn, and Jerry Brehmer and wife Miriam, all of Dexter; one daughter, Beth Bliese and husband David of Jackson; seven grandchildren, J.T. Brehmer and wife Monie, Julie Brehmer, Matthew Bliese, Melanie Bliese, Krista Young, Elise Young and David Young; three great-grandchildren, Meg Brehmer, Will Brehmer and Cy Warlick.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Mark Looney; and one sister, Mona Shopin.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2007, at the Faith Lutheran Church in Dexter with Pastor Adam Mueller officiating.
Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery.
