Jewell Elizabeth Orr, daughter of the late William Payne and Minnie Marie Krezeszinski Eavenson, was born in Cohomo, Miss., on Oct. 9, 1922, and died at the Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter on Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at the age of 84.

Mrs. Orr had lived in Dudley since 1942 and was a member of the Dudley Community Church where she had taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. She had retired as a secretary for the International Hat Factory in Dexter, and she had also taught school in the Dudley area and worked at Elder Manufacturing.

On April 2, 1943, she was married to Charles Victor Orr in Dudley.

Surviving are her husband, Charles Victor Orr of Dudley; one son, Darryl Orr of Dexter; one daughter, Nicki Allen of Ste. Genevieve; four grandchildren; six great-grandchidren; one sister, Louise Simon of Mesa, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Connelley; and three brothers, Errol, Conrad and Robert Eavenson.

Visitation will be held after 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Greg Meadows of Dudley officiating.

Interment will be in the Dudley Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
