Mary Ellen Hiett, 70, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born January 22, 1937, in Delta, the daughter of Hubert and Bernice Davenport Snider. She and Harry Hiett were married on May 28, 1955, in Delta.

Mrs. Hiett was a graduate of Delta High School. She lived in Dexter 28 years and most recently has lived in Cape Girardeau for 10 years.

She was a member of Cape County Cowboy Church.

Survivors include her husband of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Jan (Kenny) McFerron of Advance; three sons, Randy (Garia) Hiett, Wayne (Pam) Hiett, and Brad (Brenda) Hiett, all of Cape Girardeau; sister, Eva Lou Black of Creve Coeur; seven grandchildren, Ross (Alisa) McFerron, Emily Hiett, Tanner Hiett, Derek (Suzanne) Hiett, Lindsey (Joe) Medley, Brittney Hiett, and Josh Hiett; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Hiett, Landen Hiett, and Makenzie Medley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Roger Lynn Hiett; brother, Billy Ray Snider.

Visitation will be held at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home on Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, from 4-8 p.m.

Service will be at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Johnny Walters officiating.

Interment will be at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau,.

Memorials may be made to Cape County Cowboy Church Building Fund.
