Leroy Cato

Leroy W. Cato, son of the late Harrison and Dorothy Swick Cato, was born in Zalma on Dec. 29, 1936, and died at his home in Puxico on Friday, Oct. 4, 2007, at the age of 70.

Mr. Cato had lived in the Puxico and Zalma areas all his life. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Delta Asphalt. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Asherville and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed working on his farm.

On Nov. 10, 1956, he was married to Betty Bowling in Brownwood.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Cato of Puxico; one son, Randy Cato of Puxico; two brothers, Hubert Cato of Troy and Bill Cato of Dexter; one sister, Kathryn Brown of Sedgewickville; and one granddaughter.

Visitation was held after 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico with Bro. Terry Stockman of Sikeston officiating.

Interment will be in the Puxico Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
