Katy Lynn Schimmelpfennig, daughter of Holly and Conrad Schimmelpfennig of St. Ansgar, Ia., and John Patrick Rasch Barbour, son of Mrs. Rebekah Sisler Wilson of Caruthersville and the late W.J. "Jerry" Barbour of Dexter, were united in marriage at 1p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2007, at Concordia Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sikeston with Rev. Alan J. Wollenburg officiating.

Capt. James Hailey provided the wedding music.

The bride was escorted by her father, Conrad Schimmelpfennig.

The bridal attendants were Lucy Brown, sister of the bride from Ft. Wayne, Ind., Renata Schimmelpfennig, also bride's sister of Mason City, Ia., and Janice Joggerst, friend of Cape Girardeau.

The bridegroom's attendants were Jeff Jarrell, friend of the bridegroom from Bloomfield, and Allan Below and Cory Mills, friends of the bridegroom from Dexter.

A reception was held at the Dexter Elks Lodge. Jamie Holcomb of Bloomfield decorated the reception hall.

Norman Swafford was the wedding photographer.

The couple took a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., and are now residing at 604 Chautauqua Lane in Dexter.

The bride is employed as a paramedic with Stoddard County Ambulance District.

The bridegroom is a lieutenant for Dexter Police Department.
