Bertha M. Miller, daughter of the late Stephen E. Miller, Sr. and Maugreete Ruth Williams Miller, was born on Aug. 15, 1915, near Dexter and died in the Crowley Ridge Care Center at Dexter on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at the age of 92.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter, a former bookkeeper for the Department of The Navy in Washington, D.C., a member of the Daughters of The Nile, the Order of Eastern Star in Washington, D.C., and a resident of Dexter.

She was united in marriage to William Miller on Sept. 5, 1943, at Dexter. Mr. Miller preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1971.

She is survived by one brother, Kendall M. Miller of Dexter; one sister, Eleanor R. Ezell of Upper Marlboro, Md.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Stephen E. Miller, Jr. and Thomas Daniel Miller; four sisters, F. Lovisa Miller, Gladys M. Miller, Lucille M. Miller and A. Omega Miller.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007, at the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, in the Rainey-Mathis Funeral Chapel with Dr. Curtis Porter officiating.

Interment will follow in the Dexter Cemetery.
